Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 Gigabit Ethernet Surge Protector

Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 Gigabit Ethernet Surge Protector

FEATURES

• The Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 Ethernet Surge Protector Gen2 is a compact and reliable device designed to help protect outdoor Ethernet networking equipment from electrical surges and static electricity. It is especially useful for networks where Ethernet cables run outdoors between buildings, cameras, access points, switches, or other network devices.
• The main purpose of the ETH-SP-G2 is to provide an additional layer of protection against electrical surges caused by lightning, static discharge, or sudden voltage spikes. While it cannot prevent lightning strikes, it helps divert damaging surge energy away from sensitive networking equipment, reducing the risk of expensive hardware damage.
• The device supports Gigabit Ethernet connections, making it suitable for modern high-speed networks. It can be installed between an Ethernet cable and the equipment you want to protect without significantly affecting normal network performance.
• Installation is simple and convenient. The ETH-SP-G2 uses standard Ethernet connections and can be mounted on a wall or other suitable surface. Its compact design makes it easy to install near outdoor networking equipment without taking up much space.
• The surge protector is designed for outdoor and harsh environmental conditions. Its durable construction provides protection against moisture and weather exposure when installed correctly. This makes it a useful accessory for outdoor wireless links, security camera systems, access points, and building-to-building network connections.
• Another important feature is its PoE compatibility, allowing it to be used with Ethernet cables carrying Power over Ethernet. This makes it particularly useful for protecting PoE-powered devices such as outdoor access points and IP cameras.
• Overall, the ETH-SP-G2 is a simple but valuable addition to an outdoor network. It helps protect expensive networking equipment, supports high-speed Ethernet, works with PoE installations, and provides an extra level of safety against electrical surges.
