Design and Build Quality

The KS Steering Wheel features a 300mm diameter, adhering to the standard size for GT racing wheels, which provides a realistic and immersive driving experience. The wheel’s case is constructed from carbon fiber reinforced composites, ensuring a robust and durable structure capable of withstanding the rigors of intense racing sessions. This material choice not only enhances durability but also contributes to the wheel’s lightweight design, weighing approximately 1.2 kilograms, which improves responsiveness and feedback during use.

The grips are made from injection-molded TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) rubber, offering a soft yet firm hold that ensures precise control. These grips are designed to provide high friction, enhancing steering accuracy, and are coated with a corrosion-resistant material to protect against wear and tear, thereby extending the wheel’s lifespan.

Button and Control Configuration

• Luminous Short Travel Buttons: It features 10 RGB-illuminated buttons with a short travel distance of 0.25mm, allowing for quick and responsive inputs. Each button’s color can be customized from a palette of 8 colors, enabling users to personalize their setup for better visibility and aesthetics. Transparent button stickers are included for easy customization, adding a high-tech feel to the setup.
• Rotary Encoders: The wheel includes three 12-position rotary encoders centrally mounted, each capable of operating in two modes. Users can assign individual functions to each position or set the encoders to adjust settings incrementally, such as brake bias or traction control, providing flexibility during races.
• Thumb Encoders: Positioned within easy reach are two 20-position thumb encoders, facilitating on-the-fly adjustments without the need to remove hands from the wheel, thereby maintaining control during critical racing moments
• Depressible Joysticks: Two joysticks, each functioning as a 7-way switch (up, down, left, right, and press), are available for menu navigation and additional in-game controls, enhancing the wheel’s versatility.

Paddle System

The rear of the KS Steering Wheel houses a sophisticated paddle system:

• Magnetic Shifter Paddles: Crafted from anodized aluminum, these paddles utilize non-contact Hall sensors with 0.03mm precision, ensuring stable and precise gear shifts. Pre-installed silencer pads contribute to a smooth and noise-free shifting experience, enhancing immersion.
• Dual Clutch Paddles: In addition to the shifter paddles, the wheel includes dual clutch paddles that can operate in combined axis, independent axis, or button modes. This feature is particularly beneficial for race starts, allowing for optimal launch control and improved performance off the line.

LED Indicators

• RPM Indicator: The wheel boasts 10 high-brightness LEDs positioned at the top center, serving as an RPM indicator. Users can customize up to 8 colors, offering an impressive 100 million combinations, to match personal preferences or team colors. The RPM indicator’s switch mode and timing are adjustable through the MOZA Pit House Control Suite, providing real-time feedback on engine performance.
• Telemetry Integration: Beyond RPM indication, the LEDs can display various telemetry effects, such as wheel spin, pit limiter status, ABS activation, traction control, DRS availability, and flag signals. This real-time data presentation keeps drivers informed without diverting attention from the track.

Compatibility and Connectivity

The KS Steering Wheel is designed for broad compatibility:

• MOZA Ecosystem: It seamlessly integrates with all MOZA wheelbases, utilizing a quick-release system that ensures a stable and solid connection, facilitating swift wheel changes when necessary.
• Third-Party Wheelbases: Through the MOZA Universal Hub Kit PC adapter, the wheel can connect to third-party wheelbases, promoting an open ecosystem that accommodates various hardware setups. The wheel features an RJ45 port for this purpose, enabling connection via a suitable cable.
• Wireless Communication: Data transmission and power supply are managed wirelessly or via an industrial conductive slip ring when connected to MOZA wheelbases, eliminating the need for additional cables and ensuring a clutter-free setup.

Software Integration

The MOZA Pit House Control Suite offers a user-friendly interface for configuring the wheel’s settings:

• Customization: Users can adjust the functionality of the dual-clutch paddles, select between knob and joystick modes, and customize the gear shift indicator light’s color, brightness, and timing. Button colors are also adjustable, allowing for a personalized and intuitive control scheme.
